Meat snacks are being seen in a new light and gaining a new reputation among consumers.
The NPD Group, a global information company, has found that dehydrated, salted meat snacks, like jerky, are on the rise.
Although these snacks have been around for over 400 years, consumers are now looking anew at these tasty snacks as a convenient, savory source of protein and as a healthful snack option. According to NPD’s ongoing snacking research, over the last five years, consumption of meat snacks among adults has increased by 18%.
